Rare London Factory Engraved Dragoon
Description:
Very rare. This should probably be in a museum. I sold the Smithsonian a Sharps carbine conversion that was near new. I think this piece exceeds that 10 fold.
I need to re-verify this but I believe only 250 of these were made late 1850's. I was digging out a certain Colt SAA' for a gentleman and found this and some other stuff. Anyway. To make a long story longer. This is a excellent antique Dragoon. Has British proof marks
i think it belonged to the Duke of Earl. No
just an attempt at humor. But I'm sure it was made for and shipped to someone with some clout on the other side of the pond. I can't remember if I ever tried to letter this. But i will call and see what Colt has in its archives. Seems I remember they were aware of these but records were long gone in the fire. But my memory is not too bueno.
I do recall these being quite a chunk of change in the big houses. I sent about 7 items out. But didn't send this. Maybe later,
actually I'll probably forget about again for another 20 years. My grandkids will put it in a big . And buy a truck or something.
spoil em rotten.
found one that was well used that brought $17,000 about 10 years ago. Not sure about what this would be worth at . But I'm guessing we'll north of $17,000
