Company San Francisco Agency on January 26, 1898 according to the accompanying Colt Archive Letter. The Colt Single Action Army is a worldwide icon of the United States and the Western Frontier. This one would have seen San Francisco as a new major city in the United States, complete with a bustling economy, massive expansion, corrupt politicians, and lots of promise.
This Colt SAA features handsome antique ivory grips. Other than that, this revolver letters as it is regarding caliber, barrel length, and finish. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT.19.1871/JULY 2.72.JAN.19.75”. The barrel address has been mostly worn away.
The overall condition is good. The steel surfaces are dark with age. The barrel markings are illegible; the patent markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The bore is clean with good rifling. The antique ivory grips are in great condition. The action on this revolver is excellent. Here is one that went West in the 1800s!
