VERY FINE CONDITION
1871-1872 OPEN TOP EARLIEST STYLE .44 RIMFIRE
SINGLE ACTION
#2xx
Description: SUPER NICE COLT OFFERING! 1871-1872 OPEN TOP EARLIEST STYLE .44 RIM FIRE SINGLE ACTION LOW NUMBER #234 Very exceptional colt for a few reasons: THE REVOLVER is in "AS FOUND ATTIC CONDITION" never moiested, never steel wooled, never cleaned/ All original patina . The steel parts retain an uncleaned gray/brown aged patina and all with SHARP MARKINGS : Correct barrel address, early style two line "COLTS PATENT, on the left side of the frame, and a full naval engagment roll marked cylinder scene Incredible condition. All matching numbers, with CORRECT 7.5 length barrel NEVER SHORTENED, RE LENGTHENED, ETC as almost all you see have been. Also has the rare navy sized brass grip frame (two rarities) most were steel with army size......The brass is unpolished nice mustard color with small traces of silver plate in the most protected areas. (tarnished dark) and interestingly.... 5 or 6 suposed ??? "kill Notches" on the right side of the strap. I have not seen a decent one of these for sale in a lon g time. Most are heavily burnished, no finish left and basically in relic condition. These were heavily used in the west. The "Mule" gun between the 1851-1860s and the Single Action army. Colts first venture into a cartridge revolver! Very rare and historical! I am a collector not a reselling dealer and thinning the collection a bit . The price Im asking is fair and is based on a old purchase. Would be an excellent addition to a early Colt Collection!!!! I JUST LOWETED THE PRICE TO 7900.00 this is firm and the very best I can so thanks SOLD Handgun Caliber: .44 Henry rimfire (11x23R) Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1871-1872 Open Top Serial Number: 234 Barrel Length: 7.5 Condition: VERY FINE Metal Condition: VERY FINE Wood Condition: VERY VERY FINE Bore Condition: DECENT |
