These were made for sales in London and they were all made at Colt’s in Hartford, CT. This revolver is unusual as it has the “L” marking on the frame and trigger guard. Serial number ranges are from 158,000, 167,000 and 168,000. This revolver is serial number 158,150. This rare revolver has no Victorian proof marks, which means this revolver never made it to England. Also a rare feature is that these “London” 1860 Army’s should have the “Col. Colt London” address on the barrel. This gun is in a low serial range and has the “Hartford” address. Action works perfectly. Bore has very strong rifling ad rates very good. There is approximately 30% bright blue on the barrel, mostly on the underside. Numbers all match. In his excellent book, The Colt 1860 Model Army Revolver the author, Charles Pate, states that he has cataloged only twenty-three with the “London” address, all in the 158,450 to 168,450 range. This revolver has the “Hartford” address and is the lowest number at 158,150. Rare Colt!
