Colt 1860 Army U.S. Marked Revolver. This is one of the guns that was refurbished after the Civil War. The guns were taken apart, finished and then reassemble with no attempt to put the guns back together matching. These guns were issued to the Buffalo soldier as cartridge guns were coming in and the Buffalo soldier always received hand me downs. Very nice gun with good history. Trigger guard is marked “U.S.” This is a very sharp example. Most of these guns were used quite hard. The metal has a light brown to gray patina. The cylinder scenes were removed in the refurbishing process, but they preserved the patent dates. Grips are very good. Action works well and locks up tight! Good opportunity to find a Buffalo soldier Colt Army!
