Description: This represents a desirable and scarce variation of Colt's New Army & New Navy revolvers, specifically those serial numbered from 10,001 to 10,926. What makes this revolver particularly interesting is that it lacks the typical USMC marking and sequence number normally found on the butt of Marine Corps issued revolvers, suggesting it was either a civilian purchase or possibly a replacement issue that bypassed standard military marking procedures.
This excellent example retains about 95% of its original blue finish showing typical muzzle and edge wear with a cylinder drag line. Features 6" barrel with blade sight and Hartford address, six-shot fluted cylinder, and the distinctive Rampant Colt marking on the left side of the frame. Two-piece checkered walnut round butt grips show light finish and checkering wear with handling marks consistent with use. Lanyard ring has been removed with plug properly installed. Bore remains bright with strong rifling showing some spots of light pitting. A scarce variation that offers insight into Colt's military contract production during this transitional period.
