First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver, #244811, .38 Special. The Colt Single Action Army (also known as the Peacemaker, SAA, Model P, or M1873) is a single-action revolver handgun. It was designed in 1872 for the U.S. government service revolver trials.

5.5" round barrel with right ejector rod marked "Colt Single Action Army .38 Special" at left, maker's name and Hartford address at right.
Fluted round cylinder has the "Rampant Colt" logo on rear face; solid frame is marked with the 2-line 1871-72-75 patent dates and circular Colt logo at left, has right-side loading gate batch-marked "6116".
2-pc. steel gripstraps.
2-pc. checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in relief ovals at top.
Mfg'd 1903.
Condition is very good retaining approx. 50% barrel blue, else a brownish gunmetal tone with light oxidation, very good edges and markings.
Grips show moderate wear and fit well.
The rare .38 Spec. barrel and cylinder are possible replacements.
Revolver numbers correct for serial number and date range.
Action is crisp, bore is brilliant with sharp rifling.
