EARLY AND RARE NICKEL FINISH .32-20 CALIBER ARMY SPECIAL REVOLVER WITH 4" BARREL, #350XXX, MADE 1913
Description: EARLY AND RARE NICKEL FINISH .32-20 CALIBER ARMY SPECIAL REVOLVER WITH 4" BARREL, #350XXX, MADE 1913. The Army Special revolver was introduced by Colt in 1908 and was produced into the 1920s when it was replaced with the Official Police Model. Standard finish was blue and most common caliber was .38 Special. The .32-20 caliber was made primarily for outdoorsmen who often paired them with rifles of the same caliber. Again, blue finish was standard with relatively few guns turned out in either caliber with nickel finish- with still fewer nickel finished in .32-20 caliber. This fine Colt retains most of the bright nickel with only a few very small areas of peeling- a couple small portions of the cylinder between two flutes and edge, tiny spots on the edge of the frame above the grips and another small spot on the bottom left front of the trigger guard. All markings are fine with a sharp early "stylized C" with rampant colt on the left side of the frame. The grips show only some edge wear toward the bottom, fit perfectly and are numbered on the inside to match. The bore shows some scattered light roughness and the action is tight. Nice 108+ year old Colt.
