If there has ever been a one-of-a-kind revolver, this is it! This Colt Bisley was manufactered in 1911, according to the Colt Letter for this firearm.
There are two very unique things about this revolver. The first is that it has custom, solid silver grips that are inlayed with turquoise. These grips were made by one of the most famous Navajo siliversmiths of all time, Mark Chee. The grips were made when Mr. Chee was the benchsmith at Packard's, which was a very well regarded shop located on the famous plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The grips were designed to mimick the orginals. As far as we have been able to tell, these might possibly be the only pair of pistol grips ever made by Mark Chee. Chee's squash blossom necklaces often sell for $20,000 or more and rank amoung the most collectable of Native American silver work.
The second is that the gun was modified by King and marked as a Colt King Super Target. This revovler has the mirrored front sight and the action is very tight.
The condition of the firearm is less than perfect as evident in the pictures. The action seems to be very tight and the timing superb. It is quite the striking revolver and the uniqueness of this firearm cannot be over stated.
