Colt Bisley Frontier Six Shooter with 4 3/4 Inch Barrel Made 1902
Description: Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are way proud to offer this fine example of Colt's Bisley model, made extra special by the 44 WCF chambering. Such Bisleys have the distinction of having more writing on the barrel than any other Colt single action. Colt was smart for offering Winchester calibers in their six guns, as cowboys could carry one ammunition for their long and short arms. This one has the gunfighter length 4 3/4 inch barrel, and was made in the year of our Lord 1902. She is in very good condition for being 121 years old. The blue is fairly strong but drifted to patina, the muted case colors have a few flashes of blue, the stampings fairly clear, and the bore has plenty of shine and strong rifling. Even the Rampant Colt has nearly a full circle around it. The action is crisp, and works as designed. The grips are also good, fit well, and are scratch numbered to the gun. The 44-40 is about the most sought after of the more common calibers, and command prices to match.Only 6803 Bisley models were made in 44-40, and it was the only caliber to have a special name. If you have been looking for the right Colt single action to collect, or for investment, but want the added clout of a Bisley in Frontier Six Shooter form, then look no further.
