Description: Scarce 1st Gen. LETTERED Antique COLT Bisley FRONTIER Six Shooter REVOLVER SAN FRANCISCO SHIPPED SAA in .44-40 WCF! Here we present an antique Lettered San Francisco Shipped Colt First Generation Bisley Model Frontier Six Shooter Single Action Army Revolver, manufactured in Hartford, Connecticut and shipped in January of 1898 to Colt’s Agency in San Francisco, California. This Bisley revolver is in the desirable .44-40 WCF chambered Frontier Six Shooter variant. Only 6, 803 Bisley revolvers were produced in this caliber compared to 13,291 in .32-20. The left side of the barrel has "(BISLEY MODEL) COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER " in one line. The standard two-line, three-date patent information is on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt emblem. The checkered hard rubber grips also have the Rampant Colt emblem. The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish and case colors. Excellent action. Bright bore, nice rifling. Very good rampant Colt trademarked hard rubber grips. Clear markings. Numbers match. A great example of an early Bisley in a great cartridge and in great shape! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 7-1/2 inches.
