Colt Cobra 38 Special Made 1975 Excellent Cond.
Description: What we have here is a very nice Colt Cobra 2nd Issue. According to the Colt Serial Number Database, it was produced in 1975. The Cobra was an aluminum alloy-framed version of the all steel Detective Special. It was intended to fill the same role as its predecessor, but at a lighter weight allowing for easier concealed carry. Like any Colt firearm, the gun has a tight lockup and the timing is perfect. The bore appears to have been cleaned regularly. This Cobra exhibits little to no wear. The cylinder has virtually nothing in the way of a turn ring. For a carry gun, the Cobra is superior to Smith & Wesson’s Model 637 Airweight. For roughly the same size and weight, the Colt has 6 shots versus the Smith’s 5 shots. Colt was always more than willing to play up this fact in its advertisements. In recent years, many Colt revolvers, especially the snake guns, have become collector’s items. They are becoming harder to find as time goes on and prices continue to rise. The recently produced Colt Cobras are made of stainless steel, and so, are closer to the Colt .38 SF-VI (1995-96) than the actual Cobra (1950-81) in terms of materials used. As one of the original Seven Serpents, the Cobra is a must have for any Colt Snake Gun collection. Do not pass up the opportunity to own an original Colt Cobra. SOLD Manufacturer: Colt's PT. F.A.
