Bbl. 7 1/2". Fixed sights. Engraved color casehardened frame w/ blued bbl., cyl. & grip frame. Factory ivory grips. The top of the grip frame wears "TR" in gold. Built as a prototype for the then soon to be produced Teddy Roosevelt Commemorative, this SAA only wears the prototype S# on the frame itself. The box from Colt's Custom Shop reads "Blackpowder frame, Prototype for Teddy Roosevelt w/ Auroplating, Journeyman engraving & ivory grips." As a prototype, this revolver has no firing pin. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: hardwood presentation case w/ Theodore Roosevelt's signature applied into the cover w/ plaque in the burgundy velvet interior that includes a portrait of Roosevelt in Rough Rider apparel & the inscription "Commemorative Tribute to Theodore Roosevelt." CONDITION: blue, color casehardening & ivory grips remain rich w/ little indication cyl. Has been turned or revolver has been handled. The case shows very light handling marks. The original Colt woodgrain box shows degraded glue at the seam & has been taped. Some abrasion & bend marks. Still wears its original Colt Custom Gun Shop label w/ all print legible.
