RARE Antique Colt 1861 Navy Richards-Mason Conversion 38 CF
Description: RARE antique Colt 1861 Navy Richards-Mason converstion to .38 Center Fire. Serial # 4416 with all numbers matching on the barrel, frame, grip strap, trigger guard and rear face of the cylinder, which is correct for these conversions. Loading gate shows assembly number 1230 and is proper for these conversions. Cylinder also retains the last 4 digits of the original percussion serial number and retains 75% of the cylinder scene. Barrel is the original 7.5" length and has not been cut or altered. Although this is a no-finish gun, all the markings are quite clear and don't show much wear. Traces of the original case colors are visible on the frame. Plus it has an excellent bright and shiny bore!! Super tight barrel to frame fit. Action is crisp and tight, no cylinder movement and no cylinder side to side wobble. Chambers are excellent as well. Front sight original and never altered or filed. Clean screw heads, not all buggered up from tinkering. Approximately only 2000 were converted and many were in 38 Rimfire. This one you can actually shoot as there is commercial ammo available suited to these old black powder framed revolvers and used by the Cowboy Action shooters.
