Description:
Colt Detective Special "Vampire Hunter" engraved by Wayne D'Angelo. Serial #C22767 with coffin shaped display box with accessories. .38 Special Caliber. Signed by the engraver. Additional documentation included. One of three in existence.
The most unique Colt Detective Special revovlers ever produced. This Colt depicts a theme that was the original brain child of the Michaelangelo of modern engraving, Leonard Francolini in 1988. It was then that Mr. Francolini completed his Colt Vampire gun for his a client of his. That Colt has been discussed for decades since it was ultimately left by the client in his will to the NRA National Firearms Museum. The famous Vampire gun is on permanent display there in Fairfax, Virginia.
Now, nearly 25 years later and for the first time we are aware of, another Vampire themed Detective Special revolver has been completed and is being delivered to you. In difference to the owner of the original Vampire gun who will remain anonymous, it must be stated at the outset that this is NOT an exact copy of the original gun. It is very similar in many ways but in no way is an attempt to ever be confused with the original. Some of the differences are subtle and some obvious. The grips on the original gun are ebony, and the grips on this Colt are ivory. Within the engraving pattern itself there are distinct differences as well. Suffice to say there are now two unique Detective Special revolvers with the same theme "Vampire." FFL required.
This marvelous Colt is destined to become an increasingly valuable collectible in years to come.
