The Colt Detective Special is a classic double-action revolver, known for its compact size and .38 Special caliber, making it popular among detectives and concealed carriers. Introduced in 1927, it's a "snubnose" revolver, featuring a 2-inch or 3-inch barrel and a six-round capacity. It gained popularity for its concealability, manageable recoil, and accuracy, becoming a "gold standard" in small defensive revolvers. 
This Detective Special was manufactured in 1972 which was the last year for the second generation detective specials. 
The blueing on this revolver is in excellent condition there is very little drag line on the cylinder. 
This gun has been previously fired but very little, with almost no impression on the breech face. 

Since this revolver was manufactured in 1972 it is at least 53 years old and qualifies for shipping to C&R 03 License Holders
