NEW CONDITION, BOXED RARE .32 NEW POLICE (.32 S&W LONG) CALIBER DETECTIVE SPECIAL #547XXX, MADE 1950. Amazingly, this one appears totally unfired and I can’t help but wonder if given the manufacture date if the original buyer brought this one home right before being shipped out for the Korean War and never returned. The .32 caliber Detective Special is scarce as the standard caliber was .38 Special. The box has the correct end label that interestingly has the “COLT DETECTIVE SPECIAL REVOLVER” lettering in the center with “2 INCH” on the right side and “.32 POLICE POSITIVE” on the left. The revolver is fitted with the deep reddish/brown with grain “Coltwood” grips of the period and the box contains the “Shooting Suggestions” sheet. The box is missing the top right flap and shows wear, but is basically solid with the important correct end label. Not even a cylinder drag line on this 76 year old Colt!
