Offered is an incredible condition nickel Colt Detective Special that was owned by Hardin, Montana Undersheriff (deputy to the county sheriff) W.S. Brooks. The gun remains in about new condition and is mechanically perfect. Brooks served from about 1910 to around 1940. Hardin, Montana was located in Big Horn county which is in the southern portion of the state S.E. of Billings. Included is a photo of Brooks and his badge. Nickel Detective Specials in this condition are seldom encountered making this example quite rare and a desirable. The finish is all original and would rate 99%. The checkered walnut grips are in perfect condition and void of chips & cracks. A Colt Archive letter is included with the gun as is the badge and a photo of Sheriff Brooks. This is an early Colt revolver with historical significance. I offer a three-day non-firing inspection period and always want the buyer to be satisfied with their purchase. The gun will be packed correctly and shipped with insurance to your FFL dealer in the continental United States for $65 (California is extra because I have to ship through my local dealer).
