Pre-War Colt Detective Special with Original Box & Archive Letter
Description:
Colt Pre-War Detective Special chambered in 38 Special with a stunning factory original nickel finish. This is a high condition, collector grade Colt manufactured in the spring of 1932. The nickel finish is nearly flawless. There are virtually no signs of handling or use. The action is crisp, lock up is tight, and the bore is clean with strong lands and grooves. The factory Walnut grips are excellent with sharp checkering throughout. A Colt Archive Letter is included. The original Colt box is in very good condition for it's age, with all corners intact, but please note it is NOT serial number matching. Over the past several years I've sold off the majority of my Detective Special collection (over 40 in all), and these last few examples were some of the very finest it's been my pleasure to own. Short of finding the serial number matching box, ugrading this 93-year-old package would be extremely difficult. Price includes free shipping CONUS.
5/21/26 Updated Photos: I haven't been very happy with the way my original pics turned out. I love nickel Colts but HATE trying to photograph them. It's incredibly difficult to catch their true beauty without appearing too washed out or too dark. I hope this new set gives a better idea of the condition. It's a stunning revolver...
