Description: Superb NIB Colt Detective Special .38 Revolver C. 1934 With our home in Southport, CT only a few miles away from Hartford, CT we have acquired over 5 decades in the business literally thousands of examples of this company’s manufacture. Offered here and acquired recently from a prestigious collection compiled over 6 decades is this SUPERB Colt Detective Special - an iconic snub-nose revolver that debuted in 1927 and quickly became a favorite of law enforcement officers, private detectives, and concealed carry enthusiasts due to its compact size and solid construction. Chambered in .38 Special with a 2-inch barrel, it's known for being a six-shot revolver (unlike many competitors with five). According to Colt serial number records, this Detective Special with serial number 427355 was manufactured in 1934 and is spectacular UNFIRED condition in its original box. The revolver features and exposed ejector rod, unshrouded barrel, small factory checkered walnut grips and Colt’s high-polish blued finish. The specimen again is in UNFIRED condition with factory original factory box, original papers/manual, test target and original Colt tool (rare, in its original paper wrap). This dramatically boosts the value to collectors. An unfired example in such pristine condition, especially with the complete box and paperwork, is extremely rare - almost unheard of from the mid-1930s. In terms of presentation and preservation, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better example of a 1930s Detective Special anywhere. L264 Thanks for your bid.
