Beautiful Colt Diamondback .22 caliber revolver, SN: R56816, nickel finish, with 6-inch barrel, near new in worn but original matching box. Fitted with serrated ramp front sight, fully adjustable rear sight, ventilated rib, full-length barrel underlug, and wide serrated target hammer. SN "R56816" on both crane and frame. Left side of barrel marked "DIAMONDBACK" and ".22 LONG RIFLE" while right side of barrel marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A." Checkered walnut grips with gold Colt medallions. Built as a 6-shot revolver with swing-out cylinder on Colt's smaller "D frame" as used in the Detective Special. Complete with original shipping box bearing end label referencing model, SN, nickel finish (N), 6-inch barrel length, and .22 caliber, along with instruction manual, "The Colt Companion" booklet, and "Handling the Handgun" safety guide as well as Colt's congratulatory purchasing letter. Colt introduced the double-action Diamondback as a deluxe model in 1966, inspired by the successful Colt Python, and discontinued production in 1988, nickled examples amongst the most desirable.

EXC+ with just a few very faint scratches/rub marks. Cylinder ring does not break the finish and no case head marks on recoil shield. As new grips. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. Original box with moderate wear, one of the small end flaps missing. Included literature is excellent.
