Description:
Up for your consideration is a beautiful Colt Commando .38 Special revolver. This particular revolver was manufactured in 1942. These guns were only produced from 1 with only 50,000 examples produced. All were parkerized and this gun retains 98% of its original finish only showing some age in certain places along the base of the lock and a slight cylinder ring. The parkerized finish is very nice with a solid dark grey finish all around, the finish on these particular guns was like nothing else at the time not having that distinct green hue we all associate with WW2 Parkerized firearms. Bore and chambers are excellent only showing as mentioned before the faint cylinder line with a small line on the bottom of the barrel. The gun features the Flaming Bomb ordinance stamp on the left side of the frame and it is prominent although very small. The grips are the original plastic Colt branded ones this gun left the factory with and are in like new condition showing no real wear and no cracks or chips with great checkering. Mechanical condition is also perfect with in time lock up and all firing mechanisms working flawlessly. Overall a gem for the Colt collector seeking this more or less unknown firearm.
