BROWNING BROTHERS MARKED COLT 1878 DA REVOLVER IN CALIBER 45 COLT

Description:
7-1/2 inch round barrel has been shortened to 5-1/2 inches and is chambered in 45 Colt caliber with a bright shiny bore that has good rifling. It also has "R.A.C" on the bottom indicating military use. Barrel address is faint but readable. Traces of nickel finish are mostly in protected areas. The balance is a silver/grey color. Checkered Colt hard rubber grips are in good condition with the Rampant Colt insignia on each side. Lanyard swivel at the butt. Action needs some work as the hammer does not stay cocked when pulled back. Double action works good. "BROWNING BROS, OGDEN, U.T." on the left bottom of the frame indicates it was sold by the famous Browning shop. Complete with a Colt Factory Letter . There were over 51,000 of these made between 1878 - 1905 and this one was manufactured in 1882.
