Colt Model 1877 with a 3 1/2” Barrel and chambered in .38 Colt. Includes shoulder holster made by Rick Bachman of Montana
Description: Offered is a Colt Model 1877 with the 3 1/2” barrel and chambered in .38 Colt. It is out of the famous collection of Montana collector John Fox who amassed one of the best old west gun collections in many years. This gun was originally ordered by the famous B. Kittredge and Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kittredge was famous for coining the moniker’s Lightning, Thunderer and Rainmaker to the various Colt Model 1877 calibers. The .38 was referred to as the Lightning. This gun was shipped in October of 1880 and has the correct period Rosewood grips which are quite desirable. A factory Colt letter is included with the gun. The gun shows normal wear for a gun that is closing in on 150 years old however it still does retain much of its factory bluing and case color. The original rosewood grips are excellent and do not have any cracks or chips in them. The hammer and trigger still show some of the original fire blue finish. The action is quite smooth and functions perfectly. All the numbers are matching. It has a very good bore and the barrel has the etched panel marking showing the Colt D.A. .38 marking. The R.M. Bachman shoulder holster was made in Florence, MT. Rich Bachman is famous for making holsters that were patterned after the 1880s old west time period. He builds all of his holsters himself and his amazing workmanship shows in every piece. I offer a three-day non-firing inspection period and always want the buyer to be satisfied with their purchase. The gun will be packed correctly and shipped with insurance directly to you in the continental United States for $65 (California is extra because I have to ship through my local dealer). This gun is considered an antique and does not require an FFL license for transfer. I ship the following day after the payment arrives and provide tracking information. Please see my other collectible firearms that I have listed. Thanks for your interest and please let me know if you have any questions. Price is $3,250.00 plus shipping. Please Note: A same as cash price Lay-A-Way plan is available on this gun. Please call to discuss.
