COLT NEW ARMY FACTORY INSCRIPTION WITH LETTER VERY HIGH CONDITION
Description:
SOLD This is a very nice revolver with a factory engraved inscription and very good provenance. THIS IS A SUPER NICE REVOLVER. The backstrap is engraved LUCIAN W. WILER. Revolver was shipped to the state of Pennsylvania, Captain Lucian M. Wiler on June 20, 1901. On June 4, 1896 he became captain of the 2nd Pennsylvania Infantry, company E, and led his company in combat in the Spanish American War. He was promoted to major in 1903, Lt. Colonel in 1910, and Colonel in 1915. More information is included in the pictures. Bore in the 6" barrel is shiny with excellent lands and grooves. It will rate an eight on a one to ten scale. A high percentage of the original bright blue finish remains. You will also find fire blue on the proper parts. Action is perfect. Grips are excellent, no damage and little wear. Fit is exactly as it should be. All numbered parts match, including the grips. Markings are original and easy to see. Cylinder is RAC inspected. Caliber is 38 Colt. This is a nice one.
