Description:
This Colt New Army, .38 caliber Long Colt, is the US Army Revolver that replaced the iconic Colt Single Action Army. The New Army was the standard issue revolver from 1892-1909. The M1894 was the primary revolver used in the Spanish American War. This particular revolver is the M1894 with an armory added,1901 lanyard ring modification. To accomodate the lanyard ring the serial number (on the butt) was removed and the assembly number was added to became the new serial number.
Much of the original blue remains, the bore is fine and the gun indexes and locks up tight. There are remnants of the cartouche on the left grip. This is a very fine example of a Spanish American War survivor.
