COLT OFFICIAL POLICE VERY RARE ROUND BUTT 2" BARREL ARCHIVES LETTER
Description:
SOLD This is a very rare revolver. In Peer's book it is suggested that as few as 200 were made in this configuration. Colt never cataloged these. I do have the original archives letter. The letter points out the round butt. It also verifies the 2" barrel. It shipped to Smith Hardware in Starkville, Ms. July 28 1960. The shipment contained only one gun. Bore in the 2" barrel is bright and shiny. I shows little use. Action is tight. It works perfectly. Markings are clear and original. Grips are excellent and the checkering is still crispy. A very percentage of the original blue finish remains. You will see a very faint turn line on the cylinder, also some minimal edge wear. You will be hard pressed to find one of these, especially in this condition. This revolver is fine enough for any collection. American Arms & Antiques item #2674.
