What can I say about this rare gun. It is an Officers Model Target .22 with 6" barrel and nickel finish with matching number box, proper end label with nickel/wood sticker, matching number test target and original booklet. We talked to Paul at Colt about this gun as it is listed in records as a blue gun yet the work is all Colt and several Colt guys agree that this finish is just not being done by anybody else. The markings, the two tone finish, no signs of any polishing , etc, etc. Factory error, nickeled upon request before shipping, returned to Colt? No work records exist but when you look at this gun, you know it is first hand Colt work. Just like the early post war 1911 nickel guns, The top strap, bottom of receiver and trigger guard and flutes have the non glare new finish as advertised by Colt being introduced on the new post war model guns. Gun shows no signs of having ever seen a single round since the five test rounds. This is the first nickel officers model we have ever seen or heard of which might help explain that it was made as blue , then special ordered nickel at Colt. Even the numbered matching box is in near mint condition. You be the judge as it is the most handsome looking Officers model we have ever seen and in completely unfired mint condition. C&R
