Colt 1877 "Lightning", Cal. .38 Colt, 6 Inch Barrel, 1900 Vintage Description: The Colt 1877 "Lightning" was made from 1877 to 1909, with over 166,000 manufactured. The 6-shot revolvers were fitted with either a 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2, 3, 3 1/2, 4, 4 1/2, 5, or 6 inch barrel, with or without ejector, blue and color case-hardened or nickel finished, and chambered in .38 Colt. This 1900 vintage "Lightning" is as described and is fitted with a 6 inch barrel and is blue/color case-hardened finished. It is in excellent original condition, retaining 85% of its original blue finish, with most thinning on the cylinder, back-strap, and ejector rod housing. The frame retains 80% of its original color case-hardened finish, with most thinning on the top-strap and loading gate. The bore looks like new and the action functions perfectly with a tight lock-up. The grips have turned a pleasing brown, have sharp checkering and they fit very well. Comes with a Colt factory letter stating the gun was shipped on January 31, 1900 to Colt's Patent Fire Arms Mjg. Company San Francisco Agency in San Francisco, California.
