Description: 7-1/2 inch octagon barrel with an excellent bright shiny bore with deep rifling. Just a few scattered light spots of roughness. Barrel retains good amounts of original blue on the bottom and lower flats with the balance tuning a brown/gray patina. Most all of the Naval battle scene on the 6 shot cylinder is still visible with just traces of blue remaining. Frame and hammer show just traces of case color in the protected areas with the balance a gray/brown color. Brass gripstraps have traces of the original silver plated finish in the protected areas. There are lots of tiny impact marks on the buttstrap as evidence of being used as a hammer at some time in it's life, or maybe more than once. One piece walnut grips have most of the original varnish remaining as well as a repair at the left side heel with some wear and chipping around the lower grip. All matching numbers including the wedge. This example was built after the Civil War in 1867 and is still a good representative Colt Navy percussion revolver.
