Scarce 1851 Colt Navy & Shoulder Stock. Very Few.
Description: One of the rarer Colt revolvers in the collecting world is this 1851 Colt Navy revolver with 4-screw frame which is cut for a shoulder stock in the frame and on the butt strap. Further, this gun has a sling swivel forward of the trigger which is extremely rare. Serial number 74,628 is matched on all parts. Made in 1857. Small letter M is stamped on the left shoulder of the trigger guard. Shoulder stock serial # 79497 Only a small number of 1851 Navy revolvers were made with four screw cut for stock frames. The frame is milled and has the fourth screws for attaching the yoke of the shoulder stock. The backstrap is steel and has the milled notch on the bottom to engage the stock hook. All markings are sharp and clear. Some case hardening on frame. The cylinder scene is partially visible. The grips are extremely nice and the mechanics are tight and solid. The sling swivel feature was seldom included on Colt revolvers. This colt comes with a very rare Confederate sling made by ISAAC CAMPBELL & COMPANY. A supplier to the Confederacy.
