Scarce Antique COLT NEW LINE .41 ETCHED PANEL Self Defense POCKET Revolver Originally Advertised as the “BIG COLT”!
Description: Scarce Antique COLT NEW LINE .41 ETCHED PANEL Self Defense POCKET Revolver Originally Advertised as the “BIG COLT”! Here we present an antique Etched Panel Colt “New Line” .41 Caliber Revolver made in 1876 in Hartford, Connecticut. This handy little 5-shot Colt, referred to as the “Big Colt” when it came out, carried quite the punch for a pocket self-defense revolver. The large caliber of this variation makes it the most desirable of the “New Lines” with approximately 10,702 manufactured from 1874-1879 due to the short production run. This revolver was designed to be a small but potent self-defense revolver for stowing in one’s pocket in the 19th Century. Spur Trigger “Suicide Special” manufacture was fierce during this time, and Colt struggled to compete against the countless small shops making very similar, less expensive revolvers, though not necessarily of the same quality. The Colt remained a steady, reliable force in firearms for much longer than the rest. The overall condition is good+. Original blue finish. Sharp markings. The action does not function as the cylinder will not index. Good bore for its age. Both grips are in very good shape with light handling wear. Quite a few scratches are present on the tip of the cylinder arbor pin. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 2-1/4 inches. Caliber: .41 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1650 #240813 SOLD Antique: Yes |
