Prized for its rugged construction, the large framed New Service model earned a reputation for reliability and its choice of hard hitting calibers. It is no surprise that this gun was manufactured uninterrupted from 1898 to 1944, one of the longest continuous production runs at Colt.
The example presented here has an outstanding double and single action trigger - no stacking, no over travel, just a crisp break. A very tight cylinder lock-up, 7 1/2" barrel, pivoting firing pin and rebounding hammer, lanyard ring with knotted lanyard and checkered hard rubber grips finish off this desirable piece.
Exemplifying Colt quality, this gun still exhibits 99% of its original factory blue, with its perfect prancing Colt hallmark this piece will look good in any collection. Enjoy.
