Colt .38 Officers Model Target 7 1/2” Barrel with British Proof Marks in 99.9% Condition
Description:
A .38 Colt Officers Model Target with the 7 1/2” barrel and British Proof Marks. These were referred to as Battle of Britten guns and shipped to England at the start of WWII to assist the Brits with the war effort. Many never got used and were returned to the United States after the war however they had the proof marking that the Brits used. Each cylinder is marked with the proof mark as is the frame just below the rear sight on the left side with the crown marking. It also has the “Not English Made” stamping on the right side of the frame and the rear right side of the barrel is marked as well. This gun is chambered in .38 Special and remain in 99.9% condition. It has never been fired and still has the cosmoline in the cylinder chambers. The checkered walnut grips remain in new condition as well. The gun comes with a Colt factory letter showing the gun was shipped to the British Purchasing Commission through Winchester Repeating Arms Company who did much of the shipping for the weapons that went to England. I offer a three day non firing inspection period and always want the buyer to be satisfied with their purchase. The gun will be packed correctly and shipped via FedEx Air with insurance to your FFL dealer in the continental United States for $55 (California is extra because I have to ship through my local dealer). This gun requires a C&R or FFL license for transfer. I ship the following day after the payment arrives and provide tracking information. Please see my other various collectible firearms that I have listed. Thanks for your interest and please let me know if you have any questions. Price is $2850.00 plus shipping.
