Colt Officer’s Model Match .38 Special 6-Inch Target Revolver with Box

Description:
This Collector's Item is a Used; Circa 1961 ; SN 930,8XX ; Colt Officer’s Model Match (Fifth Issue) .38 Special; 6-Inch Heavy Tapered Target Barrel Revolver in it’s Original Serial-Numbered Faux-Wood Grain Colt Factory Cardboard Box. This model comes with a Serrated Trigger and Backstrap; Oval-shaped Target Hammer (similar to Python); Matte-Finish Topstrap with Windage and Elevation Click Adjustable (possibly, Accro) Rear Sight. The Target Front Sight is Ramped and Undercut. The barrel is marked on the left side in two lines “OFFICERS MODEL MATCH / CAL. .38 SPECIAL”. It comes with what appear to be Herrett’s Fancy/ Select-Figured/ Matching Grain Walnut Target Grips in their Thumbrest + Hand-Web + Below-Finger swooping style. These were made to measure – with this set having most of the Backstrap and the lowest portion of the Frontstrap exposed in peek-a-boo manner. A bit of bluing wear at the muzzle and forward/outer edge of the cylinder are evident, as is a faint cylinder line. The chambers show a faint line ahead of the case mouths; the barrel is mirror-bright, although the photos have shadows that move around depending on the angle of view. Not being dealers or experts, we estimate this revolver at approximately 90 Percent Modern Condition or better.
