RARE 4 1/2'' Colt 3rd Issue Officers Model Target 1935
Description:
Sold Pending Funds - For sale is a 1935 Colt Officers Model Target in this single gun shipment RARE 3rd issue 4 ½” barrel length with a bead front sight. This configuration is so rare, that the 2015 and 2016 Blue Book of Gun Values state: “Note that it appears no 4 ½ in. length were made in this 3rd version”. I sent them a copy of this letter to prove otherwise, and that exclusion was removed for the following editions.
The factory original blued metal surfaces on this revolver has wear, markings, and spots of oxidation. The firearm just received a tune up from Frank Glenn, so the action is crisp, the lock up is tight, the bolt drips perfectly into the grooves on all 6, endshake is absent, and the cylinder/cone gap is .006”. The bore is excellent. Wonderful 83-year old specimen of a firearm which exhibits all of the details and finish that made Colt the premiere firearms manufacturer. Please view the photos here for purpose of evaluating the condition for yourself. Included in the sale is the factory letter. This item qualifies as a C&R.
