RARE Colt Pre-War 2" Official Police LNIB with Test Target/Letter

RARE 2" Pre-War Colt Official Police chambered in 38 Special with a factory original blue finish. Also included is the original box and factory test target numbered to the gun. Total production of the Pre-War 2" Offical Police is estimated at between 250 and 500 units as the 2" version wasn't cataloged by colt until 1938, and remained largely "under the radar" in the markerplace until production stopped at the outbreak of WWII. This is a high condition, collector grade 88 year old package shipped in the summer of 1938. The oven blue finish still retains a deep dark shine. There are very few signs of handling or use. The action is crisp, lock up is tight, and the bore is clean with strong lands and grooves. The factory Walnut grips are excellent with sharp checkering throughout. A Colt Archive Letter is included. The box is in good condition considering it's age. Upgrading this package, or even finding another Pre-War 2" Official Police with original box & test target would be VERY difficult.
