Description:
Wartime shipped 5" Colt Official Police chambered in .38 Special with factory Test Target. This revolver remains in very high condition with few detractions. The original blue finish still retains a deep shine over the entire frame. The cylinder face, recoil shield, and forcing cone are very clean with only a very light turn line on the cylinder itself. The action is crisp with tight lock up, and the bore is clean. The factory walnut grips are excellent.
This example does not show any military markings. Civilian shipped firearms during this era are relatively scarce. In February of 1942, the War Production Board restricted the sale of many firearms through the L-60 Limitation Order. Technically speaking, this did not restrict manufacturers from selling firearms to civilians, but once the gun was sent to the distributor, L-60 was intended to prohibit sale to civilians.
