This first year of production (1910) Colt Police Positive Target revolver is known as the First Issue, Model ""G"". It is chambered for the 22 WRF caliber which is very scarce in this model. The 6"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The left side of the barrel is marked POLICE over POSITIVE (sharing the same P) followed by CAL. 22 W.R.F. and the last patent date on the top of the barrel is JULY 4, 1905. Note that this very early gun, serial number 1784, does not have the later TARGET marking on the barrel. The gun has approx. 95% bright Colt blue with loss on the grip straps. The edges of the hammer are bright blue and the sides are bright. The trigger is bright blue. The checkered hard rubber grips with oval COLT at the top are excellent with no chips or cracks. The action functions perfectly. This fine first year Colt Police Positive Target is ready for your collection.
