Colt Police Positive   PRICE REDUCED This is an outstanding example of the police positive manufactured in 1931 per the SN 363899.  It has a 4" barrel and walnut stocks.  If you have access to "The Book of Colt Firearms" by R.L. Wilson you can verify that all marking stamped on the gun are correct for its vintage.  There is some bluing missing near the muzzle, on the very front edge of the cylinder probably due to holster wear. and some slight freckling on the sides of the hammer.  The overall finish is a solid 98%.  The stocks show som typical wear but are solid with no deep scratches or chips.  It was passed to me that this gun was originaly owned by a student at Yale because he wanted to shoot on their pistol.  Given the condition of the frearm, I don't believe he shot it very much.

This offering comes with the original box less the cleaning brush, marked with the serial number in pencil on the backside as was Colt's practice at that time.  I also have an original "Folsom Audley" holster marked Police Positive that is in very good condition for its age.  This holster has the infamous "safety lock" that required the shooter to insert his/her trigger finger through the guard and depress the retainer button to release the gun.  Please contact me with any questions or offers.
