Considered the “Rolls-Royce of Colt Revolvers”, the Colt Python has a reputation for accuracy, smooth trigger pull, and a tight cylinder lock-up. Built on Colt’s large I-frame, the Python is a double action handgun chambered for the .357 Magnum cartridge, .38 Special rounds can also be used for a more economical shooting experience! The gun features a full barrel underlug, ventilated rib and adjustable sights. Originally designed as a target revolver, the Python became a popular carry among uniformed and plainclothes officers. All Pythons have Impeccable finish and mechanics, hand finished and tuned to legendary precision. This 1968 built gun, serial number 81330 retains 99% original factory bluing with barely a handling mark anywhere on the gun, showing very slight muzzle wear and light turn line. The bore has a mirror finish. This Python has perfect frame screws and the second style of Accro adjustable rear sights, and the top strap and rib are matted to reduce glare. Cocking the hammer on this revolver is the most satisfying combination of sound and mechanical perfection leading to a SA trigger break of 3lb, DA is likewise smooth. This Python is fitted with factory original checkered walnut grips and comes with a correct but mismatched shipping box.  On its introduction in 1955, the Python was one of the most imposing and expensive models offered by Colt. It represented Colt’s proposal to produce a deluxe high-powered revolver in which the highest forms of mechanical and design perfection were embodied. History has shown that Colt’s aspirations have proven correct. With prices of Pythons continuing to climb, getting a foot on the ladder sooner than later is the way to go.  There are diminishing chances to own a Vintage Python so strike fast or this snake will be gone!
