#4967 Colt S/A 4-3/3”x38WCF (38/40) and having about a “5-6” bore
Description:
#4967 Colt S/A 4-3/3”x38WCF (38/40) and having about a “5-6” bore and tight action, but unfortunately fully non-factory nickel finished and aggressively buffed to where the markings are either mushy, dim, or completely gone. On the good side, it does have a pair of the original early style slim profile pearl grips, one side having a mentionable aged sliver at the bottom edge. The metal is generally smooth, the finish is about 99% intact and the serial numbered is in the 131XXX range and thus dated to 1890. While this is not a high-end collectors gun, it still is a matching number antique Colt S/A that saw a lot of use ….and as for history, it might be an interesting fact that supposedly the Texas Rangers favorite cinfuguration for the Colt S/A was a 4-3/4” and 38/WCF caliber. Good+ as described. $1895
