#4979 Colt S/A, 5-1/2”x44/40, 144XXX range(1892)

Description:
#4979 Colt S/A, 5-1/2”x44/40, 144XXX range(1892), VG-Fine bore, about a 7-8 on a scale of 10 with just minor lead build-up and minor wear, no bad spots. Fine tight smooth action with all the clicks on the hammer, crisp timing and lock-up. The smooth metal is very, VERY fine with no appreciable pitting at all, fine markings including the address, and retains 30-40% coverage of thinning blue, still with some good glassy luster but also showing some plumming on the barrel cylinder, and straps. Barrel has the “COLT FRONTIER SIX-SHOOTER” logo fully visible and less than 10% wear. Very desirable original two-piece ivory grips that fit great and appear to be factory correct for this gun, with about 10% wear and overall a very handsome appearance and having lots of age cracking and “cowboy charisma”. It has very thin patina with some traces lighter swirly thin faded CH on the frame in the more protected spots. A very, VERY decent roll-die CFSS barreled Colt. VG++ $4350
