Colt Single Action Army Ainsworth Model .45 LC caliber revolver. Made in 1874. This is an original Colt Single Action Army Cavalry model issued to the U.S. Military. It was inspected by O.W. Ainsworth. Ainsworth is the earliest and most desirable of the inspectors. This gun was likely shipped to the state of Virginia and sold as surplus. This gun is particularly sharp for an Ainsworth gun. This gun is almost all original, except for a few small parts, slightly enlarged cylinder notches and the grips. Mr. Kopec says these parts are some of the finest replacements he has encountered. This gun is incredibly sharp for an Ainsworth and has all the proper visible markings. Very fine example!
