*EARLY INDIAN WARS* Antique 1875 Colt SAA Revolver .45cal. 7 1/2" Barrel Ivory Grips w/ Slim Jim Holster *
Description:
Early, historical Indian wars era Colt SAA Revolver in .45cal. with nickel finish, antique old ivory grips and 7 1/2" barrel, shipped in 1875. Nickel plating was not readily available from the Colt factory until around 1879. (See, A Study of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver, by Graham, Kopec, and Moore, for reference.) So, as this was the case, nearly all of these early Colt revolvers were shipped blue to the Colt dealers and nickel plated when still in new condition, as was the normal during this time period. Quite a bit of the nickel finish is still present, blending with smooth grey patina. All of the leading edges are still nice and sharp. Early first style "script" barrel address. All factory markings are nice and clear. All serial #'s match, including the barrel and cylinder with the last four digits. (see pics). The mechanics are very good, and the bore would also rate very good/excellent, with distinct rifling. Nice old ivory grips and very neat old slim jim holster. This is a nice old Indian wars period Colt, that is not that easy to find in this condition. Please ask questions if desired. NO FFL required for shipping, unless the state you live in requires one for transfer, NY,NJ, etc..Ship for $35.00 which includes insurance to the lower 48 states. See my other listings for more nice Colt revolvers from a private collection.
