Serial No. 54342, 5.5"" round barrel, chambered in .45LC, manufactured in 1880. Overall fine condition with 80% original bluing remaining, 70% case coloring remains on frame and hammer. Grips are very good with minor wear present, sharp 1901 dated cartocuhes are visible. Comes with factory Colt Letter and Gold star Kopec letter. Kopec states this SAA had servied with a calvary regiment during the Indian War before being recalled in 1893 where it was refurbished for the Spanish American War, where it received trigger guard,backstrap and grips from SAA #137117 which was manufactured in 1891. In 1901 it was sent back to Colt to be refurbished for the Philippine Insurrection where the barrel address was rerolled. Kopec notes that the parts marked 137177 stated together during this time and is a very unique occurrence. This Colt has some History to it!!
