"Custer Range Colt Single Action Army Cavalry Model (AC322)
Description: "Serial Number 5109. Made in 1874. 45 LC with a 7 ½" barrel. This is a cavalry model inspected by O. W. Ainsworth. The metal on this gun has a dark gray patina with light scattered pitting. The grips have been checkered and filled with a silvery substance. All numbers are matching. This gun comes with a letter from noted Colt expert John. He points out minor alterations. He also goes on to say that this gun was part of Lot 5 of the US Cavalry models. These guns were issued to the 7th Cavalry and had a high probability of being part of the battle of the Little Big Horn. This gun also has correspondence dating back to the 1970s from John Kopec and a gun collector named Dr. Robert Cox of Palestine Tx. Who says he bought this gun locally.
