"Serial number 2160. Made in 1874. 45LC caliber with a 7 ½"barrel. This gun is in rough condition as it was in a fire. Fire scale remains over at least half of the gun. The main spring is not present and the ejector screw is missing. This is a Cavalry model and a faint “U.S." can be seen on the left hand side of the frame. The right hand side of the frame reads “Co K 4 CAV" The 4th Cavalry was stationed in Texas and had numerous battles with the Comanches, Kiowa and Cheyenne. The 4th Cavalry was also sent to Arizona to battle the Apaches. Very neat Colt Single Action Army!
