"Very Fine Custer Range Colt Single Action Army Cavalry Model (AC321)
Description: "Serial number 5609. 45LC with a 7 ½" barrel. This is a cavalry model inspected by O. W. Ainsworth. This is a exceptional example. This gun has a smooth gray to brown patina on the metal with blue in protected areas. Even traces of case colors on the frame. The grips are very good and still have a visible “A" cartouche on the bottom of the grips. The cartouche on the left side is not visible due to holster wear. All numbers are matching. This gun comes with a letter from noted Colt expert John Kopec. Mr. Kopec this is a gun that was in Lot 6 of the US Cavalry models. Lot 5 and 6 were the guns supplied to the 7th Cavalry. There are several guns in this serial range that have provenance to the Little Big Horn. This gun according to Mr. Kopec is completely correct and unaltered. Mr. Kopec awarded his Silver seal. Extraordinary Colt Custer Range Cavalry model! SOLD Antique: Yes |
