1873 Colt Single Action Army 1st Gen Blackpowder Frame SAA 1893 .38-40 WCF 5 1/2" w/ Gun Belt Rig
Description: *SALE PENDING* Blackpowder Frame Model 1873 Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Original Gun Belt Holster Rig, .38-40 WCF, mfg. 1893 with 5 1/2" barrel. This is a nice original Wild West era cowboy Colt chambered in the popular .38-40 WCF cartridge which was interchangeable with Winchester's iconic Model '73. The metal has a dark plum patina thinning to gray with some traces of original bluing still visible within protected areas. The original hard rubber grips fit perfectly and show light wear with no chips or cracks. Matching original serial number "150499" marked on the frame, backstrap, and triggerguard with clear patent dates, rampant horse, and barrel address. The caliber marking is a little worn yet fully legible. Original hammer, cylinder, trigger, loading gate, ejector rod with brass spring, and blade front sight. Most if not all screws appear original. The cylinder pin may be a correct replacement. The action is very crisp and strong. The cylinder does have some notable play on lockup likely due to a worn bolt but otherwise the action functions very nicely. Fair bore with strong rifling front to back and moderate/heavy blackpowder frosting and superfine pinprick surface pitting scattered throughout. The gun belt rig has been with this gun forever according to tradition and fits like a glove. The leather is dry yet relatively supple and complete with original buckle. Ten vintage collector .38-40 WCF cartridges will be included, shipped separately, provided the buyer can show proof of necessary documents required to posess ammo within their state. We reserve the right to withdraw the cartridges from this sale. A classic first generation cowboy Colt Single Action!
